An Invitation to the Open Dialogue One-Year Foundation Course
This course is delivered in Sydney across four 5-day blocks in 2025 – designed for people already working in mental health and related fields – from prevention and early identification through to acute care.
Open Dialogue is a way of listening and learning, of decision-making and behaving. It changes how we practice mental health care.
The approach is recognised by the World Health Organization because it elevates the voice and agency of the individual and their rights, enabling truly person-centered and compassionate care to be transformative for individuals, families and the workforce.
If you work in a youth or mental health service, as a clinician, counsellor or lived experience professional, this course will support how you can incorporate the principles of Open Dialogue.
Facilitators learn to shift the power structures in our systems to create the space for recovery-oriented solutions to emerge that are sustained by family and community involvement.
